Client Reviews, Importance and Explanation

Here is a good example from our leader Mr. Bunnz on how to explain the importance of client reviews.

"Thought everyone might want to see how I can explain the importance of Client Reviews in Google & Google Places. I usually do this over the phone, but these guys are impossible to get all of them on the phone at 1 time together..."

"Hello Everyone!

I know we have to be careful about soliciting clients to give reviews according to the Florida Bar, but it is becoming more & more apparent to me over the last few weeks that this is going to be vital for success going forward in Google.  Those changes they made with the integration of the Google Maps listings (now called Google Places) & having reviews front & center in the search results are really making differences.  You guys still have great rankings all over, but I want to make sure we get to #1 for EVERYTHING and stay there!  J

One reason they are going this route is that it provides validation to them that you are a legitimate, quality business.  Remember, since it's a computer algorithm, they can't come sit down in your office to see that you're a legitimate, established, high quality law firm.  Therefore, since they're dedicated to providing the highest quality results, this was their solution for the time being going forward (I almost sound like an advertisement for them, but I've been reading so much lately I think it's baked into my brain).  It does make sense to me though looking at it from their side as the temporary solution.  They even go so far as to go out & pull reviews from other websites & incorporate them into their own search results.

So what do we do?  We have to get reviews!  http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=7965967355677330872  This is the link to the main listing for the family law websites that we will need to send to clients.  Having this direct link will make it as easy as possible for them to leave reviews directly in Google which is after all the most important.  There are also all the other sites that Google is pulling the reviews from, like Yelp, Superpages, Insiderpages, Yahoo Local, Avvo, etc. which we will send all those over too as a list (to have in one central location).  It would be good to ideally build up reviews across many of the sites as we go too since it would be the validation from many different sources other than just Google.

I know there's the thought as well about the crazy client & them leaving bad reviews, however the crazy ones are the ones that will go the furthest to leave bad things to say.  It's a much better strategy to be proactive & getting the good ones going so that if we do get the crazy other spouse who lost against you, people will take the bad review with a grain of salt.  It's much easier than not doing anything about it, then having to scramble like mad to cover up the bad review.

Let me know a good time to discuss this, & I'll be happy to go over it in detail!"
