PreLaunch QC Checklist

  1. Do the home link and masthead link to the home page?
  2. Does the design match the target area and practice?
    • Make sure all CTA’s, flash content area and contact forms match the target area and practice. (No divorce on criminal defense sites)
    • Is the target practice listed above the left nav practice areas (Ex: Criminal Defense Areas of Practice)
  3. Does every page have content?
    • Are there any content import errors?
      (i.e. bad links, no links, multiple pages of content under one page, etc)
    • Do the parent pages have content?
      • If there is content, was a link added to the left nav that links to the parent page?
      • If there is no content, ensure there is at least a small blurb and links to the practice areas.
  4. Test all CTA’s:
    • Find a Doctor
      • Does it link to the doc search page?
    • Events Calendar
      • Does it link to the events search page?
    • Contact Us
      • Does it link to the correct contact us page?
    • Main Site CTA (for affiliated sites)
      • Does it link to the parent hospital in a new window?
    • Ways to Give, Magnet etc.
      • Does it link to the correct page?
      • Do the rollovers look good?
  5. Footer:
    • Are all links named, styled and linked correctly?
    • Make sure the disclaimer is the updated version, not the old spammy one.
    • Is the disclaimer appropriate?
      • If the site is not a lawyer site, make sure it does not have an attorney disclaimer.
    • Is there an address listed?
    • Is there a phone number listed? (Phone number should be primary or 800 tracking number)
    • Is there a link to the privacy policy?
    • Is there a copyright?
    • Is there a linked Scorpion Logo?
  6. Contact page
    • H1 should say “Contact {Attorney Name Here}”
    • H2/H3 should have the key term. “Los Angeles DUI Lawyer”
    • Ensure there is a Google map
      • Make a note if it is not a Places map
    • Make sure address matches design and footer
    • Make sure phone number matches design and footer
      • If there is a tracking number on their site, ensure there are no other phone numbers that aren’t tracked
  7. Has the Privacy Policy been completed correctly?
    • Double check the firm name, website, address and phone number
  8. Are all needed modules set up and working properly?
    • Ensure all blog system pages have appropriate modules
    • Ensure all video center system modules are working
    • Are navs working on all pages?
  9. Switch to compatibility
    • Are there any design blow outs or errors?
    • Does the design have any typos?
    • Is the content formatted badly?
  10. Check the alt tags
    • If they are overly “spammy”, remove some of the spam
    • Make sure they match the content target area
    • Does everything that needs it actually HAVE alt tags?
  11. Are the styles set up correctly?
    • Header tags
    • Content (text)
    • Link colors
    • Blog page colors (if applicable)
    • Video center styles (if applicable)
    • Fly out menus (if applicable)
    • Email us pop up (if applicable)
    • Practice area navigation
      • Are there appropriate styles on level 2 and 3 sub-pages (if applicable)
      • Do rollovers blow out the design?
  12. Run link checker
    • Fix any broken links.
  13. Do 404/301 redirects
    • Check google to see what pages (if any) have been indexed.
    • Make sure there are no old HTML 404s if the site previously existed
  14. Check to see that their phone number is tracked in CMS
    • For Elite packages and some webteam clients (silvers)
  15. Is page order: Home Page, Practice Area Pages, Blog, Video Center, rest?
  16. Did you test the contact form?
    • Check to see if there is an email in the email settings
    • Double check that the report recorded the email test correctly
    • Are there validators to prevent spam?
    • Do the validators look awful when they pop up with “*required”
    • If there is a pop-up validator, does it say “*required” repeatedly,
      or is there relevant information?
  17. Make sure attorney profiles and case results are only on the main site only
    • This is unless the niche is geographically different
    • This is to avoid duplicate content.
  18. Do niche sites have a main site link in the left nav?
    • Should be titled “Location Practice Area Attorney” or “Location Practice Area Lawyer”
    • These should alternate between each niche site
  19. Customer Data:
    • Has the customer data for the privacy policy and mobile site been set up?
    • Is the information correct?
  20. Mobile Site:
    • Is there a mobile site set up?
    • Has the DNS info been pointed correctly?
    • Does the logo look good on the design?
    • Does the email form work or does it redirect to the full contact thank you page?
    • Have the correct pages been selected for navigation?
  21. Misc.
    • Can anything be better?
      • Tables in the content
      • Bulleted lists
      • CTA designs
      • Taglines in the Flash zone
  22. Redesign: Webmaster Tools, etc. verification codes carried over?
  23. SEO Team:
    • Has default SEO been imported?
      • Inform MNM if there are not enough sets or if it is blank
    • Does home page SEO have at least three sets?
      • Inform MNM if there are not enough sets or if it is blank
    • Website settings:
      • Have the website settings for the default SEO sets been filled in?
